Al Winslow and Dave Gerolamy have been in the truck business for years, and their proud tradition of service continues to be strengthened as their sons and grandsons have come to join them.

Al Winslow began in business in 1952, and he was joined by Dave Gerolamy in 1964. In 1970 they welcomed the first of their children, Al’s son, Mike, who began in the parts department. He moved through the sales and lease and rental departments and today he is company General Manager and President.

Dave Gerolamy’s son, Tom, completed a heavy duty equipment course at Sir Sandford Fleming College and he joined the firm as parts salesperson in 1976. He is now Parts Manager and his hard work and enthusiasm have resulted in a tremendous growth in sales. The dealership has achieved and maintained a standing in the top l0 for parts sales of Navistar dealers in Canada. Tom’s brother, Steve Gerolamy, spent six years as a truck owner-operator before joining the family business in 1986. His understanding of the industry and hands-on experience have eamed him industry awards for productivity in medium and heavy duty truck sales four years in a row.

Winslow Gerolamy is now represented by a third generation. Mike Winslow’s sons, Chris and Andrew, joined the firm shortly after graduating from school in 1997. Chris began with 18 months on the road, delivering and selling parts and service which gave him a broad range of experience which he now uses providing over-the-counter parts and service. Andrew began in the service department, initially as a service technician, but he changed paths when an opening came up in leasing. He now promotes Idealease Peterborough Inc., an young offshoot company, which continues to grow. Tom Gerolamy now has his two sons Jake and Dave now actively involved in the parts sales and inventory.   Jake Gerolamy started in 2004 followed by Dave Gerolamy in 2006. The traditions continue.

There have been many changes in the trucking industry since Winslow Gerolamy first opened its doors, which has created a challenge for business and clients alike. Each year brings more trucks, with more models, built with more technology, and dealership staff are continually upgrading to provide the best possible service.

The service aspect of the dealership has become more demanding. “Just in time” shipping and increased Ministry of Transportation inspections have required that customers maintain their fleets to the highest standards and yet ensure a minimum of downtime.

Computerization, both within the dealership and in the equipment they sell, has required expertise in a whole new area.

Mike Winslow is very proud of this past and confident of what the future will bring. Guided by the next generations of Winslows and Gerolamys. It will be Tom and Steve Gerolamy, Chris and Andrew Winslow who will carry on the legacy, into the next century.

Through its history and its family pride, Winslow Gerolamy Motors Ltd. has set the groundwork to continue to move ahead in the trucking industry, and exemplify customer service.
